Rainfall Regimes and extreme events
Rainfall Regime is a term that comprises many components that describes the rain in a region location including:
mean and other statistical measures of annual rainfall TOTAL, its temporal distribution, the length of the rainy season,
distribution of rain-spells and their yields, distribution of dry-spells, etc.
The Most Expected Rainfall Regime–MERR is composed of these various parameters.
For farther information see publications
Uncertainties in the rainfall regimes
Rainfall Regime Uncertainty-RRU is a term that describes how much a season, or any other period of time, varies from the
Expected Rainfall Regime (MERR) and quantify the degree of the inability to accurately determine when, where, and how intense
a climatic phenomenon occurs. For farther information: http://geo.haifa.ac.il/~geoweb/RUEM%204.1.pdf
